You can find the battle scenes in full 3D, and the characters can be customized graphically from head to toe. ![]() I really like the graphics of the game and I could say it is at par with the Zelda games for NDS. The name change are pretty much OK except that I did note that Alltrades Abbey was a poor choice of name, considering that it used to be called Dharma Temple in older versions. It should also be mentioned here that there are constant name changes for the Japanese and the English version but again, this should not be an issue unless you have played the Japanese version before. Please take note that Dragon Quest IX lacks the usual emo characters present in Final Fantasy series but this really shouldn’t pose a problem at all. I’d like to talk more about it but then that would spoil the fun and excitement for you. The story I have just explained above is more of a simplified version of the fygg-hunt but you see, there are so many more challenges and excitement that awaits every player. If you will be able to collect all the fyggs, you can have the opportunity to see the land of God. But as the story continues to unfold, things begin to turn a little more challenging because you will realize that you will lose your ability to fly and in order to get back your Celestrian features, you need to hunt down and collect the fruits of the Goddess, which are said to be the missing fyggs. You are tasked to collect a sparkling aura known as benevolence, which is very essential in order to aid the Yggdrasil in bearing fruits. In the Dragon Quest IX, you are a guardian angel referred to as the Celestrian, and your job is to protect the Wollo, or the village of Angel Falls, as soon as the game commences. As an avid gamer, this is just one of the few games I have played more than once, and in fact, I have played it for the 3rd time already. Whilst the game may not have a storyline as deep as that of the Dragon Quest V, it is certainly as fantastic as yet another installment, which is the Dragon Quest III. This game comes from a line of games that have endeared themselves to the heart of many players over the years. Let me tell you about a really nice game called the Dragon Quest IX. Sentinels of the Starry Skies English rom Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars nds rom – Proof that "size" doesn't matterįinal Fantasy Tactics A2 rom – A strategic way to have funĮlite Beat Agents DS rom – Dancing your depression awayĬastlevania: Dawn of Sorrow DS rom – Also the dawn of something greatĪnimal Crossing: Wild World DS rom – A world to go back to Guitar Hero: On Tour rom – Guitar experience minus the guitar Kirby Canvas Curse DS rom – Finding out what's at the end of the rainbow Mario Kart DS rom – Not just another Kart Racing Game Meteos DS rom – Where what falls down must go up Metroid Prime: Hunters DS rom – Hunting on a different ground N+ DS rom - A definite "plus" to the Nintendo DS Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword DS rom – Small look, big ninja action Pokemon Platinum Diamond Pearl DS rom – You know now why you gotta catch 'em all Sonic Rush DS rom – Rushing back to what is right Tetris DS rom – Pure puzzle fun one block at a time Professor Layton and the Unwound Future DS Rom - latest game in the popular series with new time travel adventures and all new misteries to uncover and puzzles to solve. The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass DS rom – Legend just got more Legendary The only thing that would make it PERFECT for me is if they restored the menu system from the PS2 NA version. The World Ends With You rom – It's from Square Enix, you know what to expect I think with all the quality of life improvements, voice acting, and that awesome sountrack restored, this to me is now hands down the best version of the game. (Before the piracy police come running in, I own TWO copies of the 3DS game, one physical and one I bought digitally, I also own the Android version and the PS2 version). ![]() Well, a quick internet search later and I realized that if I have a 3DS with custom firmware I can patch my NA copy to have the sountrack I remember from the PS2 days!! So I did it and it's FRIGGIN awesome. I was a bit bummed because there are so many good things about the 3DS version but that synthesized sountrack is just soooo inferior to the orchestrated one. I have been impatiently clicking on the count down timer on my PS4 for DQXI so I decided to pick up where I left off on DQVIII last year to kill the next two weeks. Pardon me if most of you know this, but I was just so pleasantly surprised I had to share.
